From Karen Hoover:
Before I was published, I spent a year or two feeling as if I was going to die an "almost." It was so frustrating to get to the highest committees on my submissions and then have them be rejected because there wasn't room in their publishing schedule or it wasn't quite good enough.
Enter Tristi Pinkston, author and editor extraordinaire. She took my manuscript and not only edited it, she tutored me in the subtle ways of writing I was unfamiliar with. When she saw that I had a habit of doing something wrong, she would stop her edit and give me a mini lesson within the edit itself. Having a mentor pushed me over the edge from being a "wannabe" to finally gaining a contract and becoming an author.
That is what mentoring can do for you. Our mentoring process consists of a weekly online or in-person meeting with your mentor, assistance in brainstorming your projects, reading portions of your writing, and making suggestions on what you do successfully and what you need to work on. Mentors are here to help you through every step of the process and tailor the program to suit your needs.
Cost: Eight weeks of mentoring=$200. Continued mentoring beyond that is $15 per week or $50 per month, if paid all at once.
